Navigating college applications can be daunting, but I’m here to simplify the process. From brainstorming unique essay ideas to managing differing deadlines and requirements, I break the process into manageable steps that reduce stress and keep students on track.
With a deep understanding of what admissions officers look for, I help students craft essays that highlight their personality and potential contributions to a college community in a genuine, memorable way. I also assist with supplemental essays, ensuring responses align with each school’s programs, values, and mission.
My approach empowers students to take ownership of their work, giving them the confidence they need to produce exceptional responses that reflect their authentic voice.
The Process
1. Initial Assessment: Students complete a questionnaire to help me understand their background, personality, strengths, and goals. We’ll then have an initial meeting to map out the application process and set up a personalized tracking system.
2. Essay Development: We’ll brainstorm ideas and strategies for essays. Students independently write drafts, and I provide detailed feedback and revisions. After their final adjustments, I’ll conduct a comprehensive review to ensure essays are polished and ready for submission.
3. Ongoing Support: Students and parents can email or text me with questions or for specific feedback. We’ll meet as needed to discuss essays and other aspects of applications.
4. Final Review: We’ll have one last session to ensure essays and applications are ready for submission and all requirements have been met.
Hourly Sessions
Essay Support: $75/hour
Includes brainstorming, outlining, drafting, editing, feedback, and final review of each essay.
I will provide an estimate based on the essay requirements, student’s contributions, and stage of the writing process.
Application Support: $50/hour
Assistance navigating Common App, custom college research and list development, and a personalized timeline and tracking system.
Comprehensive Packages
Packages are ideal for students applying to competitive colleges with varying admissions requirements and numerous supplemental essay responses. These packages are designed for a specified number of schools, but students can use the resources and guidance provided to apply to additional schools independently.
